The San Jose Emerald Society Band was founded on August 1, 2017. The band performs at events to support the mission of the San Jose Police Emerald Society by “Rendering Support and Keeping Their Memory Alive” by continuing to honor the memories of officers that fell in the line of duty. They also honor and provide a police presence for retired officers that have passed away. During their careers, officers have sacrificed so much for their Department and the citizens they swore to protect. The San Jose Police Emerald Society is honored to provide that presence when requested.
In addition to law enforcement funerals, the band also performs at civic ceremonies, parades, police and fire academy graduations, memorials, sporting events and fundraisers. The band averages over 25 appearances a year.
